ComBO

ComBO stands for Combined Blended Vision Operation.

ComBO Surgery combines the state of the art
Presbyond Laser Blended Vision with modern sophisticated cataract surgery.

ComBo surgery is intended for patients who have a desire to undergo
Presbyond Laser Blended Vision but who have cataract.

At Crystal Eye and Laser Centre we have expanded the use of ComBO in patients that are unsatisfied with their vision after cataract surgery from other centres. We can provide spectacle independence even after patients were left with distance only vision.

With ComBo surgery we perform cataract surgery first, wait 3 months and then perform
Presbyond Laser Blended Vision.

The cataract surgery part of ComBO Surgery is not charged for. Cataract surgery is covered by health insurance or can be done free of charge in the public health system. We do not charge extra gaps for the cataract surgery.

ComBO Surgery steps

Cataract surgery is performed first and is done at a day surgery as an outpatient procedure, meaning you will have surgery and return home the same day to recover.

Visual recovery usually takes 2-3 days where patients can drive or fly again
We aim for a +2.0 outcome following cataract surgery which means that a pair of temporary glasses will be needed to see clearly at all ranges following cataract surgery.

We then wait 3 months for the eyes to stabilise and proceed with
Presbyond Laser Blended Vision

Cataract Surgery

Step 1: Your surgeon will create a small 2mm self-sealing entry point in the front of the eye
Step 2: Your surgeon expertly creates a circular opening in the front part of your natural lens
Step 3: The natural lens is painlessly removed .
Step 4: a New clear monofocal artificial lens is placed in the eye. Because a depth of field or a range of vision will be induced on the cornea by Presbyond a multifocal and EDOF lens is inappropriate

Presbyond Laser Blended Vision LASIK

Step 1: Creating the flap
We create a flap using a the world’s most advanced femtosecond laser, the
Visumax 800

Step 2: Rotating the patient to the excimer laser

We then move you over to the MEL90 excimer laser which is the world’s most advanced excimer laser to reshape your cornea with a customised treatment plan.
Step 3: Folding back the flap. The surgeon then gently and expertly fold the flap back, exposing the inner corneal tissue
Step 4: Correcting the error. The MEL90 excimer laser reshapes the corneal tissue correcting the spectacle error
Step 5: Repositioning the flap. The flap is precisely and expertly returned to its original position, restoring the natural anatomy of your eye

.Healing and adaptation starts immediately once the surgery is complete
